The Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics which dedicated to the success in exploring space for Russia is at the northeast of the Moscow city, at the end of a street with the same name. The Cosmonautics alley which is pedestrian-only and entering vehicles is prohibited in it, fully dedicated to the people who helped Russia to achieve its goal of exploring space. The street has loads of statues and monuments of certain people such as Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, Soviet rocket engineer, Yuri Gagarin, the first Russian who revolved around the earth orbit in space, Valentina Tereshkova, former Russian astronaut, and many other important people in Russia space programs history.

After that Yuri Gagarin became the first Soviet person who managed to explore space, the Soviet government decided to erect a monument to celebrate this huge achievement for Soviet Russia. The Titanium tower is 107 meters tall and portrays a starting rocket on top of it. This monument built in 1964, but the museum which is at the bottom of it built over 17 years later, in 1981.

The Cosmonautics Museum is completely dedicated to Russia space exploration which educates and entertains visitors with space themes such as astronauts’ theme and space programs.

The museum went under reconstruction in 2009, and during this event which took up to three years, its capacity increased three times. Currently, the museum contains over 80000 items and has 300 thousand visitors yearly.
