Alexander Pushkin was a famous poet and writer of Russia who born in 1799 and died in 1836. He rented an apartment in a building at the Moika embankment, at the Palace Square which was only a few blocks away from the Nevsky Prospekt. He rented this house four months before his tragic death following his famous duel. The owner of the house who understood the value of Pushkin in literature preserves the house exactly as it was left before the poet's death.

One can acknowledge the importance of Alexander Pushkin in literature with the fact that his devotees still held meetings in his memorial house to celebrate the poet on his death day after almost two centuries. Today, the building which Pushkin rented in St. Petersburg turned into a memorial museum with the exact design and decorative as it was when he lived there for four months. Visitors can witness the workplace of this great poet and inspect his library closely.
